Change or request a salary adjustment?

I am a data scientist with 4 years of BE and currently work for an SME in automation technology. I'm actually quite satisfied with the position and colleagues, but somehow I've been browsing through job advertisements for a long time. Probably a good indication of a certain dissatisfaction, even if I can't quite understand why it is. At least I know I'm underpaid.

Now I have a job offer for 25% (75k) more salary in logistics in a small business. What would you do? Trying to get the same out of the current AG or to terminate directly?

So you won't be able to get 25% out just like that, that would be a big leap. But would definitely make it clear that you are underpaid and what prospects you have.
I don't know if you are geographically bound, but for a data scientist with 4 years of BE, more than 75k are in it.

You won't get a 25% increase all at once with your current employer.

Therefore switch if salary is the primary source of identification.

Data scientist is one of the most attractive jobs in the 21st century. Data scientists are already in great demand on the job market. The University of Mannheim has therefore created the master's degree in "Data Science" and will be training new data specialists from February 2017. The application phase starts in October 2016 and prospective students can apply until November 15, 2016 for the Master's degree in “Data Science”.

A high degree of loyalty to the company does not result in a wage increase. For every third German, the reason for the last increase in wages was a job change. That is the result of a current study with 1,000 employees by the personnel service provider Robert Half.

The approach sounds illogical at first: Amazon gives its employees in the USA the opportunity to quit and receive up to $ 5,000 in severance payments in the process. The only condition: you are not allowed to apply there again. Sven Hennige, Senior Managing Director Central Europe & France at Robert Half, comments on why the group offers this and why it makes sense.

The “Headhunter of the Year” award 2017 has been given. The prize was awarded in the categories Best Newcomer, Candidate Experience and Client Experience as well as in Executive Search for "Boutiques & Local Players" and "Large Players & Holdings". The headhunters of the year are: Geneva Consulting & Management Group GmbH, SELECTEAM Deutschland GmbH, Sapplier GmbH, Pentagon AG; Passion for People GmbH.

The “Headhunter of the Year” award 2016 has been given. The prize was awarded in the categories Best Newcomer, Recruiting Innovation, Best eBrand, Candidate Experience and Executive Search. The headhunters of the year are: Pape Consulting Group AG, Dr. Terhalle & Nagel Personalberatung GmbH, MANNROTH GmbH & Co. KG, Dwight Cribb Personalberatung GmbH, Pentagon AG.

32 nominated companies from the personnel consulting industry made it into the final selection and are hoping for the “Headhunter of the Year 2016” award on June 2nd. The “Headhunter of the Year” prize is awarded in the categories Candidate Experience, Executive Search, Recruiting Innovation, Best eBrand and Best Newcomer by the Experteer career service. A total of 88 companies applied.

The branch turnover of personnel consulting in Germany rose in 2014 by 5.7 percent to 1.7 billion euros. The forecast for 2015 is 6.2 percent. Specialists and executives with know-how in digital transformation are in great demand. Job search engines, expert platforms and social media channels such as Xing or LinkedIn are changing the industry.

Almost half of the employees in Germany are not satisfied with their job. 45 percent of employees want to change jobs in the next twelve months. The desire for more salary, variety and recognition are often the decisive factors.

One in five employees of a consulting company specializing in information technology (IT) leaves their company during the course of the year. This means that IT consultancies have the highest fluctuation rate in the management consultancy industry.

An international Monster survey shows that one in five respondents has already changed jobs to escape job rivalries. Another 26 percent have already considered resigning for this reason.

The branch turnover of personnel consulting in Germany rose cautiously in 2013 by 3.2 percent to 1.6 billion euros. The top managers identify less and less with their companies. These are the results of the market study "Personnel Consulting in Germany 2012/2013" by the Federal Association of German Management Consultants.

The health costs of unemployment are underestimated. A study by the German Institute for Economic Research shows that the psyche of both partners suffers to almost the same extent when one of the two partners becomes unemployed.

In comparison, German employees are less happy with their jobs. The younger employees in particular were surprisingly dissatisfied. These are the results of a global GfK survey commissioned by Monster.

This year, every seventh German is hiring a new employer. This puts Germany below the European average of 18.3 percent. This is the result of a global study by the international management consultancy Hay Group.

For Germans, the issue of unemployment remains the number one concern this year as well, but the trend is continuing to decline. This is one of the results of the current “Challenges of Europe” study by the GfK Verein, which asks the citizens of Europe every year about the urgent tasks to be solved in their country.
