What is sway?
Video: Putting ideas into practice with Sway
Sway is a new app from Microsoft Office that allows you to easily create and share interactive reports, personal stories, presentations and much more.
Start by adding your own text and pictures, find relevant content from other sources and import it, and Sway look at the rest of the text. With Sway, you no longer have access to a pre-built template that would make your presentations look like everyone else's, and you don't need to have design skills to transform and present information in modern, interactive, and attentive ways.
With Sway, you don't have to spend a lot of time formatting. The integrated design module ensures that your presentation looks its best. If the first draft is not quite what you want or want, you can easily apply a different design - or customize the layout entirely to suit your preferences.
It's super easy to share your finished Sways. Family members, friends, classmates, and co-workers can see your creations on the web without logging in, logging in, or downloading anything. And you can change the privacy settings for any Sway if you want more control over their sharing.
Sway is free to use for anyone with a Microsoft account (Hotmail, Live or Outlook.com). You can create more sophisticated Sways with more content when you use Sway as part of a Microsoft 365 subscription. For more information, see Add more content to your Sways with Microsoft 365.
What can I create with Sway?
Regardless of whether you want to use Sway to create a report, a presentation, a newsletter, a personal story, a photo album or a visual travelogue, there are practically no limits to your creativity.
If you're not sure what's possible, you can get inspiration by viewing and interacting with Sway's created by other people. After signing in to Sway (shown below), scroll down to the bottom of the page My sways , then browse the content provided under the “Get Inspired by a Recommended Sway” heading. Introducing the Sway storyline
In the Storyline you can enter, insert, edit and format the content to convey your message. The content is arranged in sequential order by adding so-called cards, with each card containing the type of content you want, such as text, images, videos and even office documents. The order of the cards can be changed at any time according to your requirements.
Give your sway a title
Click the placeholder text that appears in the storyline on the first card The title for your sway, then enter a brief but meaningful description of the contents of your Sway. When you later share the finished Sway, that title will be the first thing other people will see.
Adding pictures and text to your Sway
To add content such as text, images, or videos to your Sway, click or tap the icon at the bottom of any existing card + . You can also drag and drop text and images directly onto your storyline. (Don't hesitate to experiment - you can always rearrange the order of its contents and customize each card however you want.)
Adding Content to Your Sway
You can easily search for more content and add it to your Sway, e.g. For example, a picture saved on your computer or mobile device. Sway can also search the internet for the most relevant content (e.g. videos) and add it to your Sway. Click on the menu bar Insert, select your preferred content source from the menu, and then type in the box Browse sources a keyword or a search term.
Preview your Sway
You can always preview your work by clicking the tab design click. By previewing your Sway, you can see how the Sway will appear to other people if you later decide to share it. If you want to experience the full effect of your Sway, click the button on the top menu bar Play back.
To return to your storyline after previewing your Sway, click the tab Storyline.
Change the style for your Sway
Sway takes care of the formatting, design and layout of your content so you can focus on what you want to communicate. You can keep the default theme suggested by Sway, choose and apply your own theme, and even customize the layout.
To choose a style for your Sway, click on the menu bar design, and choose Styles out. If you want to pick a random look and mood for your Sway, click the button Mix againuntil you find a design and layout that you like. You can also customize a specific part of the style you just applied, such as: B. Color, Font and Textures by clicking in the area Styles on the button To adjust click.
If you want to control how other people can view and navigate your Sway after you've shared it, choose whether you can scroll the content vertically, horizontally, or how you want a presentation to appear.
Share your Sway
Are you ready to share your Sway with the world or maybe just select people? Click the button on the top menu bar share, and then choose how you want to share your Sway. The options available in this menu depend on the type of account you used to sign in to Sway.
For a more detailed overview of all available sharing options, see Share your Sway.
