Participation in various methodological and data science projects in the field of "methodology" such as,

  • Conception and implementation of model-based statistical methods
  • Linking administrative data with survey data and taking into account the particularities of the data sources when creating the model
  • Analysis and assessment of administrative data for the purpose of model-based data completion of microdata
  • Exploration of new data sources and application of machine learning methods
  • Development / evaluation of methods for integrating new data sources into the statistical production process
  • Planning, extrapolation and accuracy estimation of sample surveys
  • Analysis / modeling of time series
  • Methodical further development in the field of the visualization of statistical results
  • Methodological support and training for the departments
  • Participation in specialist conferences and holding lectures


  • Relevant university degree (at least a master’s degree or comparable degree) with a focus on mathematics / statistics, data science, computer science or physics or chemistry with a focus on data science
  • Very good IT skills, especially in programming in R and preferably also in Python; as well as other tools in the field of data science
  • Very good knowledge of data management, data manipulation and data analysis
  • First experiences in the practical application of mathematical statistical processes / models or of machine learning or artificial intelligence methods to real data situations
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Ability to work in a team; Flexibility to quickly immerse yourself in different subject areas and thereby acquire specialist know-how
