Wildlife reclaiming Yosemite Park as it closes

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, California - Yosemite Village is usually a swarm of people and traffic jams. On Saturday it was peaceful like a few times before - the only noises came from the wind and the few residents. © Carolyn Cole / Los Angeles Times / TNS A young bobcat hunts for a meal in Yosemite Valley on April 11, 2020.

The service said several dogs in the area also became ill after eating what is believed to be "some type" of contaminated processed meat. Tuesday's statement said these dogs survived after receiving veterinary treatment.

Under the B.C. Wildlife Act deliberately poisoning wildlife is punishable by a fine of up to $ 250,000.

Anyone with information or seeing dead wildlife in the Pemberton Meadows area is encouraged to call the Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) line at 1-877-952-7277.
