Which is greater life or death

Messe -Leben und Tod- met with great interest

Messe Bremen counted 3,155 visitors at the second congress fair "Life and Death" from May 12th to 13th, 2011.

"That is about 1,100 more than last year," says Hans Peter Schneider, Managing Director of Messe Bremen. More exhibitors are also using the unusual forum to present their services to an interested public. The Federal Children's Hospice Foundation also took part in the fair with an extraordinary stand - the Bulli.

Last year there were 64, this year 91. “An event that deals with dying and death takes time to establish itself. People - be they visitors or exhibitors - want to develop trust, a high degree of sensitivity is required. Word gets around that this is guaranteed with “Life and Death”, ”says Schneider, explaining the reason for the increasing numbers.

One item on the program that aroused particularly great interest was the lecture by Dr. Margot Käßmann on “Ethical Questions at the End of Life”. Around 650 people listened to these very sensitive thoughts of the former regional bishop alone.

The "Life and Death" deals with all topics related to provision, dying, death and mourning. The "Leben und Tod" is aimed at both full-time and volunteer workers from the hospice and care sector, as well as those interested in work in the fields of funeral services, pastoral care or mourning work, as well as interested private visitors.

The next Life and Death will take place on May 10-11, 2012.
