How do I make roles in discord

This allows users to assign their own roles in Discord Server

On Discord servers, by default, administrators can only specify user roles. However, it would be a good idea to let users choose their own roles as this would lose administrative responsibility. While it is possible, there is no direct way to go on the Settings page, but you can easily do it with the help of Discord bots. Let's see how.

Allow users to assign their roles to Discord servers.

I'll walk you through the whole process using an example. Here I have a server called Cubers where people can talk about Rubik's Cube algorithms. However, there are different methods like CFOP, Roux, and ZZ. Since each user has the option to choose their method of solving the cube, I wanted users to choose their own method. Therefore, people who have chosen the CFOP role can access all of the channels discussed by CFOP. And that's how I did it.

In order for users to be able to assign roles themselves, we must first create roles. To do this, you have to Open Discord> select server> click server name> server configuration> roles> click the + button next to roles.

Now you can Name your name, specify permissions on your server and save changes.

You now have roles and the rights that people in those roles can access. Now we just have to let people assign the roles themselves. In order to do this, opens the Mee6 Discord provides website and login with your Discord account.

And you approves the request for access to your account . This would allow access to your account.

Choose Now select the server on which you want to activate self-assigning roles, and click Next in the pop-up.

After logging in, select the Add-on area, select the Reaction Rolls add-on and click yes! to activate the plugin.

This is the intelligent solution for automatically assigning roles. Here's how it works: when a new user joins their Discord and receives a welcome channel where they get a brief introduction from the server, they can assign a role by simply responding with an emoji on the channel. It's really smart when you think about it.

Now choose the channel where people can assign their roles . Usually #Welcome, #Select_role, #Get_Started are some examples of channels.

click now in the Reaction and Role section Add a response and select an emoji to represent that response . You can select multiple roles or a single role in this response. Users who select this response are assigned all roles in that response.

You can also add multiple reactions. By default, you can only add 2 reactions. When you're ready to add even more, you'll need to choose any Mee6 Premium plan. Now in the news department, explains people that she has to choose a role . And explain it also what emoji means for which reaction . So that people can choose emoji and be assigned roles in that reaction.

In the Reaction Mode section, select Standard or Invert. When the user selects a response, they are assigned the response roles in standard mode. In reverse mode, the feature is removed when users click the answer. This is good for turning off some server notifications.

Allowing members to select multiple role sections is enabled by default so that users can select multiple roles. However, you can turn them off if you want.

And click save changes. You have successfully created a way for users to assign roles. You can open the server and go to the channel and check yourself.

In any case, there is one final step in making sure everyone can see this message. Go to Server Settings> Roles and Set Make sure that Read Text Channels and Voice Messages are turned on. Also make sure that “Add reactions” is activated in the settings for all roles.

There are many bots out there that can help you create a server where users can assign their roles themselves. Nakedo, mono footc. However, with Mee6 the process is much easier and faster, so other options are less recommended. Nakedo asks you to learn a lot of command lines to work, while Monotron requires you to install a program on the desktop in order for it to work.
