Psychology in its official definition is always called "the science of human experience and behavior" designated. But what does it exactly mean? The term psychology is made up of the ancient Greek words psyché (German breath, soul, mind) and logos (dt. the teaching) together. Psychology describes and explains people and their development under all internal and external conditions and influences. Perception and awareness are just as much a part of the research area of psychology as language and emotions.

Psychologists examine what is defined as "normal" by the majority of society as well as any deviations within behavior and experience, behavior being a very broad concept. The subject of investigation by psychologists is the entire inner workings of the human being perception about the Feelings up to thoughts and memories.

Since our soul life, in contrast to our actions, cannot be observed from the outside, one of the great questions in psychology is: "How can thoughts and feelings be explored?"
